Sex, when between two consenting adults, is positive, healthy and enjoyable.

In our culture, issues of consent are still misunderstood and that is why talking about it is extremely important.

Consent has been an issue that even stars have stood up for. One such star is Amber Rose, love her or hate her, there’s no denying Amber Rose is one seriously badass woman.

In many occasions she has stood up for women sexuality on slut-shaming and in one occasion at least for CONSENT. During an appearance on new OWN talk show, “It’s Not You, It’s Men,” Rose perfectly shut down hosts Tyrese Gibson and Rev. Run for failing to grasp the meaning of the word “consent.” She explains the definition of consent, watch the clip below:

Knowing why consent is important is really worthwhile when starting a sexual relationship. There are verbal and physical cues as well as things you can say if you want things to slow down or stop.

So the bottom line is to have a conversation and not to pressure someone if they don’t feel ready. The discussion on consent doesn’t have to be a long one. It’s simple: yes or no.
